The little faces

There are tons of kids in Nairobi. They're in need of alot but especially love. It was amazing how a simple hand shake, smile and "Jambo" cause their face to light up.

Mary was left parentless due to sickness and is raised by her siblings. She quickly became attatched and I was blessed to be on the other end.

Elsie is the child I signed up to sponsor. She's six and gets to start school because of the sponsorship which means two meals a day, friends and an education and knowledge of God and his love for her!

Some others are just too cute:

Jenifer was adorable! So little, cute and loveable!

These kids could dance!

In the wilderness...

There are alot of animals. During our trip we embarked on a 2 day safari! It was very fascinating to see them in their natural habitat. Not quite a relazing trip away from our busy work in the slums but a once in a life time experience and so awesome to see.

Did you know that hippos kill more people than any other animal in that area? Crazy huh? Mosquitos as well!

Where we we're sleeping the tribal men had to guard our tents and escort us to the restroom, protected by their spears incase we had any wild encounters. A little scary, to be honest but exciting none the less.

... continued.

I see these faces and I think of all the amazing people, their stories and all we have to share now. If you want to hear about anything, feel free to ask.

Some background: The kids are amazing, Obviously they are cute but there is nothing like seeing the joy on their faces when all you do is say "jambo" and shake their hand. They have very little reason to smile but they do, all the time. I loved constantly being able to enteract with them, love them, teach them and play with them.

I must be getting closer to getting over jet lag, haven't stayed up this long for a while.

Jambo (Greetings From Africa).

So I am home. Africa was absolultetly amazing.

God orchestrated everything in such a perfect way. We we're so blessed to be a blessing to the people of Nairobi!

It is such a different world working in the poorest of places. Sewage. Trash. Disease. Seven people in a home half the size of an average bedroom.

yet the kids smile. Their faces scream Joy. What a blessing to see. It was so great to walk around shaking their heads and saying "jambo" and hearing them repeatidly scream "how are you" while they don't really knowing what they're saying.

I have quite a few up dates of pictures to post but we'll start with these. We landed and hit the ground running. The school had an awesome performance planned for us that broke our hearts! Then we explored the slums and some of the kid's homes. Alot to take in and alot to pray about. But we we're excited, ready for sleep and for two weeks of whatever God had in store!

Mathare Valley: Part One

There are so many great stories, touched lives and life changing events. I am blessed and excited!
