June 2nd was a special day for the De La Rosa family as well as many friends.
I am honored to have shared in such a unique and significant celebration.
Mr. and Mrs. De La Rosa have now been married for 25 years. That's a great celebration in it's self! But this was a special surprise that Mr. De La Rosa (and their kids) threw for Mrs. De La Rossa that was in the works for 6 months.
Here's a little of their story...
Dating.. a little one on the way.. a thought from Mr. De La Rosa to buy a house together followed by hesitancy from Mrs. De La Rosa because they were not married. So what does he suggest? "Why don't we get married?" Years have gone by of Mrs. De La Rosa feeling like she didn't quite get the proposal or wedding she imagined. Years into their marriage through people in their lives and the always interesting ways God works, this family came to know Jesus as their savior and walk in a whole new life. People around them saw significant changes in their relationship and the way they grew.
Fast forward. They have now been married for 25 years and Mr. De La Rosa wanted his beautiful wife to have the celebration (with photography to document) that she never had. The family has a great journey and they serve as missionaries in Mexico working with deaf children. It really was a privileged to see such significant commitment, life change and love.
It's a small world, and I love it. This special celebration took place at Hume Lake. I was recommended as a photographer who is familiar with Hume. As it plays out we discover that Charles knows the De La Rosa family and the family who hosted the celebration. Also, Avery De La Rosa (their daughter) attends the same Eastside service as I do.
It was a quick weekend but really a blessing to share in a great milestone in life for such a wonderful family.
Mr. & Mrs. De La Rosa - 25 years strong
One of my favorite parts: Story time - the journey through their relationship, encouragement from friends, laughs and a few tears.
